Network/Ethernet/Internet connectivity port
Many TV’s are now coming out with network connection build in. You are wondering what it is for, right? Well, the answer to that question is not entirely simple. Different manufacturers offer different features that can be used via the network. For the most accurate answer you will have to go to your manufacturer’s website and look up your TV’s model and skim through the specifications and details.
Some features may be very useful to you and some not so much. The complete list of all the possible features can be relatively long, but here are the few most well known: YouTube, Netflix, Flickr, Twitter, Pandora, Facebook, Skype and many more.
Having such features can be nice especially if you have use for them. Keep in mind that if you want to use them you will have to run a network cable from your router to your PC; and if they are not close together or easily connectible in your house, well… Some TV’s come with wireless Wi-Fi capabilities or Wi-Fi build in, but they are not as common, and I do not believe that you should hold this against other TV’s when selecting the one to buy.
